what i thrifted.

I found this little gem at the thrift store and I laughed out loud. I couldn't leave it there for only $1!
Allison made threats towards our friendship if I ever put my future child in it. After all, we do live in the woods where gun shots are nothing to be concerned over. But can you believe someone actually made this? It's hand sewn and I just love it..look at the eyelet lace trim!

What do you think? Would you ever put your child in this?? (I think that if Abby & Josh ever have a baby girl, I will have to gift it to her..)

winter weekend.

Where have I been? Winter Weekend, a retreat we take our youth group on every year. I spent the 3 day weekend with these girls...I laughed so hard I cried.
Andrew giving a motivational speech during the volleyball and basketball tournaments.
The whole gang.
It was an awesome weekend and we are all sad that it's over. It took me a good 24 hours to recover but now I'm back in action..

what i thrifted.

I thrifted this months ago thinking that I would put it away and save it
for my future children...
BUT, I couldn't wait that many years to have children old enough to chew gum so I decided that it would be a nice addition to Andrew's office for now...

Isn't it rad? Didn't every child want one of these for their house?

something floral.

Guys, I'm not gonna lie to you. Most days when I'm working from home I don't get out of my J.crew sweatpants...my friends know the pair quite well and they call them my "uniform".

However, I do get dressed to shoot for the shop. After shortening this vintage dress and listing it, it has made me look forward to warm temperatures and getting some new pieces for my Spring wardrobe! This dress wasn't my size, but I think I will look for something floral just like it for myself for Spring!
What pieces do you need or want for your warm weather wardrobe this year?

my delicious valentine.

When Andrew asked what I wanted to do for Valentine's Day I told him that I wanted him to cook me dinner at home and keep it simple, since we had just taken our trip. Well, since Andrew likes to spoil me when I ask for the opposite, he took it to an extreme and cooked me breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
"I quite like" waking up to flowers and chocolate on the pillow next to you while my husband makes me whole wheat pancakes with berries...
Chicken pesto paninis with roasted red peppers & spring mix for lunch...
And this one really blew me away...
It was his first attempt at making sushi but I had a feeling he would be good at it because he is the opposite of me: patient, and actually enjoys doing tedious tasks. He made so much variety!
California Roll
Tuna and Avocado
Spicy Tuna
Chipotle Tuna (fail)
Coconut shrimp with mango Roll*
(*amazing)
Mom bought us some beautiful Champagne flutes for a Valentine's Day gift, knowing we were dining at home. It was absolutely delicious and I ate so much sushi I thought I would die. He even bought chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. I was so impressed with him and I will now be asking for homemade sushi on a monthly basis. He really out did himself this year and I am happy to say that 7 years later I'm still completely in love with this guy..

I love my Andrew more every year, and I couldn't be happier..he's the sweetest husband and my best friend.
Happy Valentine's Day, I hope yours was as special as mine!!

Mexico: Part IV

Well, I should never say "I'll post this, or that tomorrow", because it surely means that I will not. Anyway, here is a little tour of our sweet room.. We were given a room with two double beds instead of a King sized bed, which was fine because:
a.)we get to sleep in a King bed all year round, and
b.) we got too sweet of a deal to complain about ANYTHING!
I thought it was so sweet that our cleaning lady put rose petals on our bed one day, probably thinking we were honeymooners.. But I have to point out that this mirror was actually a sliding door separating the bedroom from the bathroom. Our bathroom came complete with his and her sinks and a beautiful tiled walk in shower. However, the jacuzzi tub with jets was my favorite thing about the room and using it was one of the highlights of my day. I could even lay it in and see the flat screen tv from it! haha! If Andrew and I ever get a house, it will be something I will definintely splurge on..
I really had every intention of taking outfit photos each evening to do posts, but I failed. Here is a lame attempt!
My famous "Bachelorette" dress from H&M.
That's all on our trip, thanks for reading!!

Mexico: Part III

As I look at these photos, I can't believe the contrast in the colors.. bright blues as opposed to our pale gray winter skies here. Our weather was absolute perfection..even on a 90 degree day, there is a lovely breeze that keeps you from feeling too hot. We loved eating lunch outside and usually gave our pale skin a break from the sun around noon.
The design of our resort was modern and elegant, and I loved these wicker couches with sheer canopies. There were so many pretty spots like this to sit and chat. I had asked the bartender to surprise me with a cocktail..I said give me your specialty and I was handed this "sugar reef" which was the sweetest drink I've ever had and I promptly disposed of it after this picture, haha. However, we really loved all of the Mexican people that we met who worked at the resort. They were so cheerful and friendly and love to practice their English, so we ended up making a lot of friends.
I apologize, I know I'm sort of dragging out these posts, but it takes me awhile to weed through all of the photos. So, I will have one last post tomorrow of photos to share with you!
