had a fun photo shoot for the shop with alyssa today...this dress belonged to our friend's mom in the 70's.  i put it on and it was just missing something...couldn't quite put my finger on it until she made me this pretty head garland out of ribbon and grass and i channeled my inner flower child...

happy long weekend!! 

we will be hosting a few BBQ's this weekend so i'm hoping for sunshine. any fun plans?

1. Put on nail polish and let dry. 
2. Dip fingernail in alcohol-basically any will do, vodka is suggested. 
3. Press a strip of newspaper big enough to cover the whole nail on to your alcohol soaked nail. 
4. Pull off slowly and be really impressed with yourself. 
5. Paint top coat if desired.

Had a wonderful afternoon with anne and chey + baby sebastian (- hillary). I miss my friends.. lately I've been so busy being an adult I haven't had much time for my girlfriends. It was refreshing to spend some time sitting around with them today drinking coffee and catching up like old times.

Well it's been a crazy week between chauffeuring my handicapped husband around to work, PT, and youth events, but we are moved in to our pretty little lake house!! It's so perfect for us right now and I could not be more grateful. 

 

Yesterday morning we sat out on the deck and drank our coffee and the sun sparkled off the lake and the swans floated by and I just couldn't believe it! It feels like we are on vacation.. I will post some photos as soon as we unpack more boxes.

stuck in a rut.

Due to a lack of original content to post, stemming from a creative rut I am feeling stuck in this week, I am sharing some images from my new favorite blog with you today. I have been feeling like I want to purge my closet and strip it down to it's essentials lately, and this site has inspired me even further to do it! Gone are the days of buying things just because they're cheap..the motto of my mid twenties...quality over quantity!

It's called Closetvisit. Jeana Sohn photographs inspiring and stylish women in their homes and let's us peek into their closets, which I personally find extremely fascinating! I think you will enjoy it as much as I do..

what's new in the shop!

I will be listing some new "upcycled" vintage clutches in the shop this week. This past weekend I set up a stand to sell some of my vintage goodies at a handmade and vintage market a women's conference down at Tuscarora. So I was busy last week making bags and here are a few of the finished products!
