inspiration: fur and sparkles

I'm getting ready to start filling the shop with lots of glamorous vintage furs and sequined dresses. I've been collecting and saving for months..

I may be jumping the gun, but Marc Jacob's Fall collection has tugged at my heart strings and inspired me. Besides, who says you can only wear fur and sparkles around the holidays anymore?

fall brunch

Hello readers! The lack of posts was primarily due to my being consumed of car-hunting and buying (more on that later, I found one!) However I spent the glorious Fall weekend in Philadelphia with my dearest girlfriends from college. It was Eastern's homecoming weekend, and Meredith decided to host a brunch for a small reunion of our girlfriends in her new home! As usual we made too much food and over did it with the baked goods, but we enjoyed every Fall treat possible! Pumpkin bread, apple bars, apple cider, cranberry muffins.. 

It was wonderful for all of us to be together and to see Kat and catch up with her about the past 3 months of her travels in Europe. After the brunch we stopped at our alma mater to check out the homecoming festivities and then went straight to our favorite coffee shop for iced coffees and lunch.

     Almost everyday I come across another amazing etsy shop full of beautiful items made by very talented people...

 Sarahseven is one of my recent favorites, an independent designer in Portland Oregon who makes the most whimsical, romantic gowns. Her gowns inspire me to get married all over again!

vintage trunk sale!

 Saturday morning Abby and I dragged our bodies out of bed at the obscene hour of 5:30am (I truly respect those who wake up before the sun rises on a daily basis) to drive to Kutztown, PA. We had reserved a space at the Renninger's Flea market to unload some of our "junk". Since I tend to overbuy for the shop, I was hoping that Kutztown University students would take some things off my hands. 

Abby sold a bunch of her vintage housewares including this rad teal dish set and beautiful gold telephone. I loved the feather skirt on this doll..

 Vintage dish towels were a hot item. It was definintely more of a housewares and antiques crowd. So by the end of the day I had made a total of $18 and spent at least $40 haha! Mr. and Mrs. Kunkle in the stand next to us sold gorgeous organic produce and pumpkins which we brought home with us, and my neighbor on the other side sold me 8 vintage hats for $12! Not to mention all of the delicious food inside which we couldn't resist..

 Although we didn't make much of a profit it was still a really fun day! Who knows..maybe next time we'll give Brooklyn Flea a try! But seriously, if you are ever in the neighborhood of a Renninger's Flea market you should stop in to enjoy some great food and vintage treasures!
