get snowed in.

This is officially my new favorite sweater, which I thrifted last week with the intention of selling it. Alas, once again I am keeping something I bought for the shop. 

But it's sweater weather, and you can really never have too many, can you? 

We are expecting a snow storm later today so I spent the day taking some photos with Evan.  Having been sick the past few days there's nothing too exciting to report. However Allison and I are planning a little trip this weekend to Lancaster to visit our friend Lori! I am excited to do some mad thrifting.. $0.50 bins here I come!!

I'm having fun with the new housewares section in my shop "For the Home".  I absolutely love my new 35mm lense and it has been fun mixing things up a bit in the shop. At first I worried about branching out away from clothing in terms of being a "specialty shop" but hey, if Anthropologie and Urban can do it, why not Simplethrift right?  I have sold a few items already so I think I'm gonna stick with it! Plus I like the look and feel that the housewares give the shop. 

I'm stuck on the couch as I'm not feeling so well today, catching up on tv shows. My weekend was fun and action packed. To sum it up in a few words: bridal gown shopping, birthdays, chai tea with meredith, leadership seminar, thai food, dogs, church, couch.

Here are a few of my favorite shots of our friends Danielle and Matt's baby girl Jasmine. They were visiting for Christmas and we had a little brunch at Cheyenne's house to catch up..She is the sweetest little girl and we wish they lived closer to us than Tennessee!!

I'm going to try to get a little more creative in my outfit posts this year. So here we are.. in my bedroom, haha! I snagged these shorts at Urban for $6 thanks to Dave, Andrew's brother who is a manager there and gives us a nice discount for the family & friends sale! 

I've been living in these vintage oxfords..I believe they are a small men's shoe and they are the most sturdy yet comfortable thing I've ever worn. I think they will last my entire lifetime..

Ok I'm off to add more housewares to the shop!

lobster and sequins.

Andrew and I had a pretty low key New Year's Eve. It was my brother Evan's birthday so we went out for hibachi lunch and had the most entertaining cowboy hibachi chef I have ever seen.

 In the evening we bought and cooked our very first lobsters! Like a typical woman, I felt sorry for them & made Andrew cook them. I made some twice baked potatoes to go with them and we had a nice little romantic dinner at home...

Afterwards we had some friends over our apartment and totally missed the ball being dropped, haha!
