abby & josh's wedding!

This past weekend we attended the wedding of our close friends Abby & Josh. The wedding took place at her parent's farmhouse in Kempton, PA. I found it particularly cool as barn sparrows flew overhead during her ceremony and the band "The Great Unknown" played as she walked won the aisle. The band was fabulous and set the relaxed mood of their intimate country wedding.

Home-made and hand-made touches made the wedding truly personal and charming right down to the home-brewed dandelion wine and boxes of italian cookies for favors! My brother Evan shot the wedding and here is a short trailer he put together. Also, check out Allison Conklin's blog to see her gorgeous photos from the day!

girlfriend get-away in Cape May!

Last week we took a mini vacation just us girls to Meg's family's camper in Cape May, NJ. It was the perfect little get away. We spent 2 glorious days laying on the beach reading magazines & catching up on hollywood gossip, talking about the different directions are lives are taking us, and sipping smoothies and sangria.  Simply perfect!

another little wedding...

Here are a few shots from the rehearsal and wedding of Andrew's brother Jon and Maria Little! The rehearsal dinner was catered at home, with a fabulous dessert bar provided by the mother of the groom Donna Little.
Along with the traditional bubbles, each guest was given a small envelope in which there was a live butterfly! So as they ran out of the church, live butterflies were released!! It was pretty awesome..

Jon volunteers with the fire company as an EMT so it was only appropriate that they ride off in a fire truck!
The reception was held in Carlisle, PA in an old ribbon mill factory turned church/venue. It was a beautiful space with high ceilings and old woodwork. They even had live butterflies in cages around the room!

Carrie Bradshaw headpiece

I know this qualifies me as a super nerd, but i have to share this awesome headpiece that i recently bought at a yard sale. The reason i'm sharing it is because it reminded me of the one Carrie Bradshaw wears for Stanley and Anthony's wedding in Sex and the City 2! I will be listing it in the shop and I'm hoping some crazy fan will buy it!

Here is my vintage headpiece:

Here is the headpiece Carrie wore called "The Dark Queen Lace Headpiece" by Trivial

what i thrifted.

Since I tend to talk mostly about clothes and parties, and like i said before, this IS wedding month, I thought it might be fun to share a few of my recent favorite thrifting finds!
Cream satin pillow covered in handmade rosettes! It made my heart flutter..
The perfect little camera bag for my Canon t1i.

My mom actually found this one for me so i cannot take the credit. I have been looking for a nice trunk and I have big plans for this one..a good paint job and some new interior lining!

LEMONS for the bride.

Last weekend we threw Cheyenne a 'lemon' themed (by her request) bridal shower. All of the guests were asked to wear something yellow, and all of the snacks were centered around the theme. We served lemon coconut bars, lemon pepper chicken, lemon meringue pie, lemon poundcake, lemonade, etc! We were worried that it might be overkill, but it was delicious!

Pre-Wedding Festivities

The pre-wedding festivities were almost as fun as the actual wedding! We gathered at the Klinger's home bright and early, and Elaine put out an amazing spread for breakfast complete with mimosa's. The house was decorated perfectly, right down to the purple and white flowers planted in the gardens! As the girls had their hair and make-up done I snapped some shots.

Meredith's "auntie" as she says, worked quickly to arrange the bridal bouquets, boutonnere's and centerpieces. They were some of the prettiest wedding flowers I have ever seen with vibrant colors and gorgeous texture.
Meredith was simply stunning. Her lace dress seemed to be perfectly designed just for her and she looked truly elegant. A radiant and beautiful bride.

This isn't the best photo, but here are the silver rosette hairpieces I made for the bridesmaids. Each one was slightly different and I enjoyed making them!

rehearsal dinner: PART I

One of my best friends Meredith got married in Philadelphia this past weekend! Their wedding was beautiful and I will be sharing some of my photos from the event.
Rehearsal dinner took place at the Jarrettown Hotel.
My gift to Meredith was a pair of handmade amethyst earrings made by the jeweler who did my wedding rings. The vintage cut stones mere specially chosen to match the dresses of the bridesmaids, and they were perfect!
Meredith gave all of her bridesmaid pretty scarves with their initials monogrammed onto a corner. I loved mine. Wasn't that a perfect personalized gift? More to come on the wedding weekend!
