2010 in outfits..

When I think back over 2010 it was a year of changes. I decided to quit substitute teaching, we lost our apartment & had to move, and due to my conflicted interests (& lack of motivation for the cut throat professional dance world), I decided to take a break from dance for a while..I decided last January to pursue my interests in vintage and fashion and took the plunge to run my shop full time. I am so glad I did and I have loved every second of it!

I feel so incredibly blessed to have found some success in something I love so much & to have a husband who fully supports it! Aside from the business, 2010 has been about enjoying out marriage & taking trips with Andrew, as well as getting more involved at church. It has been a wonderful year..

I started this blog to promote my etsy shop and it has now become more of a personal lifestyle blog. But I am going to try this year to focus a little more on the fashion part of the blog. To kick off 2011, here is a look back on 2010 as I continue to find and create my own personal style.
Thanks for reading!!!

christmas with the little's.

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve with the Little side of the family, hosted by his Aunt Diane. Her house was decked out with amazing vintage decor, including 35 nativities!! I wish I had gotten more photos of her home, but with a group of 50 people I was a little distracted..next time...

Other than the fact that almost every single person of Andrew's extended family was present, another really cool tradition is that every person gets a stocking full of goodies, all 50, beautifully knit by Andrew's grandmother!  Now his aunts and mother have carried on the tradition, making stockings for us in-laws from left over heirloom fabric. I could not have asked for a cooler family to marry into, and I feel so blessed to know them all...

simplethrift home.

The truth is that I love vintage housewares almost as much as vintage clothing. And I've been toying with the idea of opening a housewares section in the shop for awhile..so I'm gonna give it a go! Andrew will be quite happy to see some of my treasures go...

holiday at the inn.

We were lucky this year to have a connection with a local bed and breakfast where two of my close friends work. The owners of the inn allowed us to host a Christmas party there last week and it was the truly the most perfectly elegant setting for a holiday party!
I wore a vintage Jessica McClintock Gunne Sax merlot velvet dress. I think I gasped out loud when I found this dress in the thrift store. It has pretty gold glitter splashed across the bottom edge of the skirt. I conveniently already owned a pair of shoes to match!
We did a white elephant exchange, which is always pretty hilarious and everyone brought a dish to share. Our friend Holly put together a really fun photo booth with props..I will share some of those photos tomorrow!!

Be sure to hop over to Kat's blog to check out her gorgeous photos from the night..

merry christmas!

Just popping in to wish you all a Merry Christmas from the Little's!
I hope your holiday has been wonderfully relaxing. Ours has been filled with time spent with both of our families & lots (& lots) of good food! I have so many photos to catch you up on from our holiday festivities, but for now I'm off to shoot a few photos for the shop before our blizzard hits! We are expecting to be snowed in for a day or two, so I'll be back!

a holiday engagement

Two of our closest friends got engaged this weekend!! After much anticipation (months upon months ha!) Taylor's beautiful custom ring was finally finished and he popped the question in Valley Forge park. On a side note...Taylor and Allison are going to have the most beautiful children God has yet to create..
We surprised Allison by driving down to Wayne to her parent's house for a little suprise engagement party. Taylor's pretty sisters served us champagne, and we ate cake & were merry..
 Taylor with his future father-in-law..
It was a truly joyous occasion and we were blessed to be a part of it..and now that she finally has her beautiful ring, I am very excited to help Allison begin her planning!
