what i thrifted.

I have been eye-balling J.Crew's sequin skirts this season, but being the frugal shopper that I am, I was not willing to pay $358 for such a skirt..

Therefore you can imagine my joy when I came across this sweet little silk vintage skirt in a thrift store last week!! And it was only $4.99!! I couldn't believe my eyes. It will be perfect for parties and dinners this winter.
Later in the week I came across this darling little J.Crew cardigan in a Salvation Army and I snatched it up to wear with my skirt!

lake house.

Hillary and I spent our last full summer day together on Sunday before she moves out to MN on Thursday.. We went up to her Grandparents lake house in Wilkes-barre, PA and spent a lazy day out on their pontoon boat. Don't you love the 80's colors of the boat? If I had chosen the colors myself I could not have done a better job, haha!

We loaded up on magazines, snacks & sunscreen and hit the lake for the day. It was one of those perfect summer days when you have nothing else to worry about aside from whether or not you are hot enough to jump in or not!

MKORS.

One of the interesting things about selling online is that I ship my packages off to foreign countries and most of the major fashion cities of the world, writing names and addresses that I can barely pronounce.

Well yesterday I looked at the invoice for this bag, and it read Michael Sinnot c/o MKORS. So I immediately googled his name and found out that Michael is the accessories designer for Michael Kors!
My fantasy is that he is buying this vintage bag for design inspiration...

more vintage wedding...

Sticking with the vintage wedding theme, I spotted this beautiful DIY vintage cake stand on ish and chi via Apartment therapy. Though I have seen this done before, I love the use of the clear glass vintage candlesticks and the yellow patterns. I was just about to get rid of some vintage plates and saucers and now I think I may try to make one!

vintage wedding inspiration

I am loving this 1970's vintage dress that I just listed in the shop. I think it would be perfect for a casual vintage style bride!

family camp.

Over the weekend Andrew and I took a trip up to visit his family at Camp Iroquoina in Hallstead, PA. They were spending the week there, as they have done for the past 17 years! I had never been before and since it has been a big part of Andrew's childhood, I had to see it! The camp is in a beautiful setting and has a sort of rustic, old-school camp feel to it. We had class in the Chapel Barn, made bracelets in the craft barn, went to meals according to the dinner bell, watched the talent show, and sang camp songs with smores around a fire. It was refreshingly simplistic and family oriented, and I had a wonderful experience seeing it!

wishlist: bermuda

One of my favorite things to do is to "window shop" online and I found myself doing that on this ugly rainy day on which I was supposed to go biking on Sandy Hook.. But on the bright side, our cruise to Bermuda is officially two weeks from today! So I compiled a wish list and somewhat of a guide to my packing for the vacation. I think I will mostly be living in my bathing suit and cut-offs during the day, with pretty dresses for the evenings, and I simply cannot wait!

For days on the beach...

For scooter rides around the island..

For dinner on the ship in the evenings...

these boots were made for walking..

Gearing the shop up for Fall, I have been feeling uninspired lately to style outfits for these hot humid days of August. I tend to throw on my staple jean shorts, and a vintage tanktop or tshirt. However yesterday was a fabulous day for thrifting with my friend Meredith, and I found some amazing things that I will definitely have to post some outfits with!

Outfit Details:

Jean shorts: Abercrombie & Fitch (thrifted)
Blouse: Tjmaxx
Vintage frye boots: thrifted
Vintage jewelry & purse: thrifted

fall preview: back to school.

With school right around the corner I have been enjoying filling the shop with new fall items. I feel that Fall is the most exciting time for fashion, when you tire of your summer wardrobe and the new season's trends are emerging. I love breaking out my bin of cool weather clothes, and seeing pieces of clothing that I have forgotten all about! It's time for layering again, (which never seems to go out of style), and buying a few new things for the season!
