2. having flowers in the house makes me happy.

this is rad.

1. Put on nail polish and let dry.
2. Dip fingernail in alcohol-basically any will do, vodka is suggested.
3. Press a strip of newspaper big enough to cover the whole nail on to your alcohol soaked nail.
4. Pull off slowly and be really impressed with yourself.
5. Paint top coat if desired.

vintage summer.

cousin emily's bridal shower!

Over the weekend I went to my cousin Emily's bridal shower. It was held at a great italian restaurant in Montclaire, NJ called Corso 98. The food was delicious, and it was really fun to catch up with all of my cousins and Aunts on my Dad's side of the family who I do not see very often.
congratulations emily & dave!!

father's day bbq

We had the whole Little clan up for a joint Father's day BBQ at our house. I am still shocked by the fact that just our immediate families combined is 17 people! We did the math, and if every one of Andrew's 8 siblings get married & have 2 children, his family becomes 38 people... Yikes..

We grilled up a ton of chicken, ribs & veggies and made a classic BBQ feast. Fortunately we had the PERFECT DAY, sunny with a nice breeze for lake activities like kayaking, paddle boating and sun bathing.
Like Father, like Son....
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO OUR DADS!!!

a post about food...

Thanks to his barista days at the Gryphon Cafe, Andrew makes a darn good caramel latte...I have been on a serious cereal kick lately and I just thought to myself this morning, wow, this bowl of berries is so pretty! I should take a photo of it...

Monday-Tuesday we went camping & white water rafting with our graduating seniors, with a daily menu consisting of only hot dogs, ramen & s'mores. I'm hoping that those berries will make up for it (ha!). It rained, but we had a fun trip, & tonight we will go watch them graduate!
Congrats guys!! On to the next chapter..

pink and yellow.

It has been crazy hot the past few days and since we don't currently have AC, I've been trying to move as little as possible to keep from sweating to death. I plan on hitting up a lot of yard sales this weekend and tackling this little sewing project (pictured below) which involves a lot of vintage tulle!

Wish me luck, and have a great weekend!

new items here:

bermuda part I

Mazarine by the Sea was the perfect place for us. Our room had a sweet ocean view with a little balcony on which we enjoyed our coffee every morning and watched the cruise ships coming in.
Mom passed out by the pool..
Everyone rides scooters on the island, but we opted out of renting one. They drive like maniacs and I was too intimidated so we bought bus passes for the week. Bermuda has a great bus system and I highly recommend using it if you ever visit.
Portugese man o' war were washed up on the shores and you had to carefully avoid them when strolling down the beach..
Most days we would pack lunches, and head to the South Shore beaches which are the most beautiful beaches with the pink sand. There is a trail that runs between the coves and bays and we really loved hiking it,  stopping off at different points to lay out.
More to come!
