mother daughter trip.

One week from tomorrow my Mom and I will be flying to Bermuda to stay here at Mazarine by the Sea for 5 nights. I had promised her a mother/daughter trip last summer for her birthday and we're finally going!

We're renting a furnished apartment with a full kitchen and lovely patio, pool and BBQ for hanging out in the evenings. 

We chose Bermuda because my mother loves to walk and watercolor, and it's the perfect place for those two things. Vibrant colors, pastel homes, and tons of trails to hike that run between coves and beaches. I'm so excited!

Now I'm off to the wedding of Dave & Lindsay!!!

rainy days and mondays..

Finally updating the shop this week...I had every intention to include this gem of a Scandinavian sweater, but I'm having serious trouble parting with it!

It was hand knitted in Denmark, 

and is pure wool with the prettiest little buttons. I'm not sure it will make it into the shop..

It will be a busy week for us, with Andrew's brother getting married on Friday! I will be down at his parent's house from Wednesday until Saturday to help with the rehearsal dinner decor and food as well as some decorations for the venue. I'm looking forward to it, it will be a fun "Little" wedding weekend! 

Other than that, we are still getting settled into our new place and re-habing Andrew's knee. There has been lots of rain here, so we're praying for a sunny wedding day!

 Due to lack of internet at the house yet, posts have been sparse..but we really haven't missed having it! Can you tell why? It kind of feels like eternally being on vacation.. There is something so soothing about living on water, and we couldn't be happier right now...We have been eating dinners on our patio, reading, and enjoying the fireplace in the evenings.

(We hope that all of our friends come visit this summer because we have two extra bedrooms upstairs!)

Well it's been a crazy week between chauffeuring my handicapped husband around to work, PT, and youth events, but we are moved in to our pretty little lake house!! It's so perfect for us right now and I could not be more grateful. 

 

Yesterday morning we sat out on the deck and drank our coffee and the sun sparkled off the lake and the swans floated by and I just couldn't believe it! It feels like we are on vacation.. I will post some photos as soon as we unpack more boxes.

 We had a lovely Easter dinner, and if I do say so it was quite delicious. My brother came home from Nashville looking like Joaquin Phoenix...and Taylor & Allison joined my family, as well as Andrew's sister Danielle, and our friend Justin. It was a nice relaxing day of good food, good company and a good movie..The King's Speech (i know, i'm so late on that one...)

I haven't been blogging much lately due to Andrew's ACL surgery last week (notice the crutches in the picture). Life has been a little more complicated since he will be on crutches 4-6 weeks and can't drive for a month. I am busy playing nurse/chauffeur in the midst of working, helping Andrew with his work and house hunting! Not to mention the nice weather! Of course I'm sure everyone in the blogosphere is beginning to get outside more these days and spend less time online...
